Photo Images

-What is a good image for a painting?

If you are sending a photograph, a 5x7 or 8x10 will have more detail, although a 4x6 photo

is acceptable. Have your center of interest in focus and up close rather than far off in the

distance. Avoid red eye that you can get from using a flash. Most of all, pick an image that

is dear to your heart or holds a favorite memory: you child,  family member or loved

one,  favorite activity like hot air ballooning, a special event like a wedding, a favorite  pet,

a picture of your garden, your home, your boat or vacation spot.  The list goes on.

-What kind of format should I use if I send an image by email?

You can send your image as a JPEG, TIFF', PDF or a PSD. Resolution should be 300 dpi

or more for the best results. Images as low as 72 dpi are acceptable only in larger in

sizes like 16" x 20" toget a better result.

Paper and Size Options

-What kinds of paper can used to print my painting?

Ultra Smooth Fine Art Paper, Textured Fine Art Paper, and Canvas Paper

-What is the difference in paper?

Art technique and color intensity would determine between the smooth and texture paper,

but would cost you the same. We would determine that at the job request.  Canvas paper

is textured like the canvas that is used in oil paintings and is a more expensive paper.

Miscellaneous Questions

-Do you do special requests?

Yes, we are up for the challenge. Send us your ideas and reference to help illustrate your

request.  We will work with you.

-Can you customize color to work within a color scheme of a room?

Yes, we have done that with the painting "Angela's Ireland."  Angela, who took the

photograph, wanted the colors coordinate with the colors in her living room. She

provided us with paint chips and color swatches that matched fabrics and wall colors used

in decorating the room.  You can send color swatches, paint manufacturer's names

and numbers, or provide us with PMS colors via email.

Here is another example below showing paint swatches that were given us. This helped in establishing a color palette for the painting that would coordinate with the room decor.
